Tour Recap:
Pinterest is called the nicest place on the internet, and they try their hardest to live up to that title. The platform has over 330 billion pins and 7 billion boards, meaning that anyone can use Pinterest to get ideas, find new interests, or learn new skills. Pinterest exists at the intersection of social and discovery platforms, meaning that it has a comprehensive database of information like Google, while also functioning as a social platform like Facebook or Instagram. The Pinterest Team is international, consists of over 3000 people, and the platform is offered in 35 different languages.
On this tour, the Detroit Pinterest Team gave an inside look at what it’s like to work at Pinterest. All three team members mentioned that they enjoy working with each other, to the point where they wonder if a person can be that nice. Currently, Pinterest is primarily working remotely, with the option to go into the office a few days per week. One interesting thing about the Detroit Team is that they focus exclusively on the automotive side of Pinterest. There are several career opportunities for entry-level professionals, which you can learn more about here.
